Chocolate Crackles

These cookies must have been a product of the 1970s. I have fond memories of them from my childhood, and they are Brad’s favorite.

2 squares (2 oz.) unsweetened baking chocolate (or 1/3 cup cocoa)
1/4 cup salad oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
powdered sugar

Mix chocolate (melted) or cocoa with oil and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each. Add everything else. Chill thoroughly. Shape into balls and roll in powdered sugar. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes
